Every morning I have this smoothie: it gets in 3 or 4 of my five a day without trying! Here is the recipe for it:
Generous handfuls of strawberries, raspberries, blueberries (maybe some blackcurrants from the garden as I have a very productive bush) and a whole banana (small if its a big one then use half). 400 mls of milk and about 100 mls of coconut milk (my partner just has around 400 mls of coconut milk and uses real milk just to wash round his bottle after he’s drunk it). Bear in mind that we are using the 600 ml bottles. For the smaller 300ml ones you need to halve the quantities.
Add a generous teaspoonful of low fat peanut butter (for energy) and a generous sprinkle of flaxseed (we are very generous!). Partner also adds either low fat yoghurt or full fat sugar free yoghurt to his and also 2 table spoons of oatmeal but I find that makes it too thick.
Blend and drink! or pour on your cereal (lovely on shredded wheat or a delicious muesli or granola). Partner puts his in the fridge for about 30 mins to be even thicker and cold. I sometimes put ice in it if it is for my son to take to the gym (and I put more coconut milk proportionately to milk for that one as well, he tells me coconut replaces electrolytes?).
Incidentally this is a great way to get fruit hating kids to have some of their 5 a day although raspberries may provoke complaints with the pips which do not break down in the blender.
Also btw from time to time we soak our bottles in Milton (or non-branded bottle steriliser) and cold water to really clean them out and we also use a soft bristled bottle brush because those jolly raspberry pips cling like limpets to the inside sides and bottom.
