So today is Wednesday August 5th.  After 4 days of scorching sunshine on the beach (who needs to go abroad,  all brown as berries) yesterday was blustering with sea fret from time to time.  Still spent several hours at the beach but without taking off jumpers etc.  Today showers alternating with sunny intervals (is that what the met office call it?!).  Kids and partner are planning on going to the open air swimming pool at the top of the town but I think I will stay in the town and go for a wander then hoover and clear up in the flat which has half a beach on the floors and in the bath and shower.

IN fact what happened was that we all wondered round fairly aimlessly for a couple of hours by which time it was raining rather hard and constantly.  So after a couple of beers in the pub we had fish and chips from the local fish shop and then played dominoes for an hour!  I won the tournament.  Now partner, QT1 and older daughter are watching “The Breakfast Club” (if you are my vintage you will know this well).  So I am upgrading this blog and trying to work out how to add photographs in some semblance of order.

By Friday we will be back off to home.  Saturday will be for unpacking, laundry, shopping etc.  Then on Sunday QT1 is off camping with her friends at a reservoir resort near to us for 6 days and myself, older daughter and QT2 are catching a 7.20 am train,  with my mother,  to go to a family gathering in Sussex for my brother in law’s 50th and nephew’s 21st.  Partner is taking QT1 as he will have to put up the rather large tent which is ours and no-one else knows how to put it up!

Then finally on Monday will be getting up at proper time,  wearing proper clothes and respectability as we go back to work.  Shame holidays go so fast.
