Ballroom dancing

After a gap of around 30 years since I last tried it I volunteered to take part in a group waltz
as part of the entertainment for the local Law Society Masquerade Ball in May. The first rehearsal in March was totes (as they say) nervewracking. Pity the professional dancers who have to partner 10 bumbling toe treading legal or legally related professionals. Still eventually most people had mastered the basics although posture, rise and fall and heel leads might take more than 3 rehearsal to master! Second rehearsal is this Sunday. Full dress required for promotional photos. Which brings up the next issue. My ball gown is about 2 sizes too small (I have had it over 20 years). Now on a desperate regime of very sensible eating and exercise in blind hope of being able to get into it. But not going to work by Sunday. Eek!  I blame old age and having three kids for the flab but really it is lack of exercise and love of food (and gin).  Ho him. Plodding ever onwards towards the goal!
