Hello again

So things have been really hectic recently trying to get QT2 to revise and attend extra classes to get him through his GCSE exams
and to the rugby academy in September. Older daughter was home for Easter hols so extra washing,  arrangements and food for 3 weeks!  She’s gone back for teaching placement for a few weeks now then only a few weeks til her summer hols!

In fact at the end of June QT2 is off for two weeks National Citizens Service residential (although he still hasn’t given me a kit list!!) and of course QT1 is off to build a school in Peru and trek up Macchu Picchu (anyone else think that sounds like a Pokemon??!!) at the beginning of July for 28 days.  We might have a children free home for the first time in over 20 years. Scary!!  We will miss them really…! The Peru trip has cost £4000 basic plus a few hundred for all the essential jabs and another few hundred pounds for all the brand new ( will probably never see the light of day afterwards) kit!  But it is a once in a lifetime experience and should be the making of her.  Although to be fair her adult switch suddenly flicked on and she is really clued into working at college and future projects.

In the Easter break I made the Simnel cake to Mrs Beeton’s recipe. Not as good as last year it took much longer to Cook then the edges and bottom were burnt. Cut burnt buts off and covered with marzipan. It all got eaten anyway.  I also made chocolate crispy cakes using gluten and nut free cornflakes and nut free dark chocolate in case of people with allergies at QT1’s church youth group. Must have been ok as none came home.☺
