Final family related post for Suburbanlawmum

Hello followers,

Some of you may know why my posts ended so abruptly but for those that are not aware, in early 2022 QT2 passed away in an accident, aged 21. Since then I have not felt able to post again about family matters.

I have changed jobs since I last posted (4 years ago) and now work remotely for an employer 300 miles away although I am still a solicitor. I am trying to move to be nearer to the job but unsuccessfully, so far.

OH has changed job a few times but is going to semi-retirement in January, only working 3 days a week.

Elder daughter got married 2 years ago and is now expecting a baby in January. That is good news.

QT1 is still a stage manager and is sought after so that is also good news. She is trying a new job on a part time temporary basis from January, to see whether she gets on with formal fixed employment instead of freelancing.

However the loss of QT2 has affected us all deeply and lastingly such that we have sometimes struggled to process things and to move forward in a meaningful manner. Certainly our dealings with each other have changed, not necessarily for the better.

Whilst I am still suburbanlawmum to my two daughters, there is little to tell anymore although I am still cooking and baking from scratch, including bread, Cornish pasties, many different soups and even, with assistance from QT1 (who lives at home when not away working), a full curry, pilau rice and naan bread from scratch!

So there will be no more posts about family life as ours has been shattered forever. I might, if I remember, take photographs and continue with cooking posts as that is an important part of my life, along with continuing my sales of my lovingly handmade greetings cards. I hope that someone may be interested in those posts.

Signing off for now.
